Our family traveled south for the Memorial Day weekend and as we got in the car around 6:30pm on Thursday, I was tired and could hardly wait to get to our destination. We stopped to pump air into one of our tires and got on I5 South in Bellingham. Little did I know that if we were about a minute ahead of schedule we could have been on the I5 bridge when it collapsed in the Skagit River.
I am so thankful that we were 200 feet away from the bridge when it collapsed.
I am so thankful no one was seriously hurt.
I am so thankful this happened before the long weekend traffic.
