Where did My Mojo Go?

I am feeling so tired these days it is hard to find motivation to do anything. Where did my mojo go?

I do run around with my 18 month old all day and I have managed to still clean, do the laundry, cook and keep up with photography responsibilities, but I am completely exhausted at the end of the day. I miss the energetic me.

Could it be the lack of sun and warmth? I should need to move to Hawaii!

I have never enjoyed the dark, rainy days of the Pacific Northwest, but I feel like the weather impacts me more deeply as I get older - one would think I would be used to it by now. But instead, I wake up, look outside, see dark clouds and immediately want to go back to bed. I declared today would be "sweats" day and I still have not brushed my hair...it probably won't happen until tomorrow.

I am not sure where my mojo went or if it will return with the sun, but for now, I am meditating on these words:

Isaiah 40:30-31

Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

ReMoved

Tears streaming down. Sometimes truth and reality are shared in a way that impact me so deeply that I am left completely humbled...and I know I will never be the same:

Eighteen Months

I took advantage of the sunny weather to capture some of Sariah's exploration moments. Click on the link below to see more photos:

Sariah:
  • Surprises us by saying words we didn't know she could say
  • Is very observant and never misses a beat
  • Likes to help put the groceries away
  • Is very into her blanket and Lamb
  • Notices babies wherever we go
  • Points out cars, trees, trains, etc when we are driving
  • Is starting to let us brush her teeth without a fight
  • Likes to be on Daddy's shoulders - and holds on to his ears or hair
  • Has the cutest "excited" moves
  • Is very efficient at sliding down the stairs
  • Wants to go on walks all the time - primarily because she gets to play with sticks and rocks
  • Wants to open everything with keys

Bringing Nature Inside

When it comes to life, I like to keep things simple and I feel the same way about my home. I don't like to have a lot of stuff around and the less I have, the less I want to keep. The less I keep, the easier it is to maintain a clean and organized home.

I have had a glass fish bowl that was part of our wedding center pieces that I didn't want to give away because it reminds me of one of the best days in my life...but I also didn't like the fact that it just sat on a self, collecting dust. A few weeks ago I found a few ideas for creating a terrarium on Pinterest and it turned out that I already had most of the materials to make one so my sister helped me make one - and I absolutely love it.

I love to bring nature into my home and this little gem reminds me of all the time we spend hiking when it is not raining.

Materials:
- Fish bowl: From our wedding
- Soil: I already had
- Rocks: From our backyard
- Moss: From our neighborhood
- Succulents: I already had some...and got a few more at Home Depot

This simple terrarium brings so much life to my living room! The best part is that Sariah has not destroyed it (at least not yet) and I am teaching her to take care of plants by watering them once in a while.

I am Feramir

I laughed when I read "opinionated" ... but John tells me it's true.
